Day 1- Unlock the Power of Your Story, 2021

Welcome! It’s Day 1 of your “Unlock the Power of Your Story, 2021” Challenge, and I’m ready to begin. I hope you are too!

Before we actually start,  we’ll briefly go over of the concept of creating a compelling story. We will begin to unlock the power of your story with a family event.

Once you finish the video
Go to the Facebook group Unlock the Power of Your Story

Post your answer to the following prompts in the Day 1 thread. 
(you can also find it under UNITS or ANNOUNCEMENTS tab)

A) Post one or two descriptions of past events of the last year (feelings, fears, growth, emotional depths) that have made a lasting impression upon you. 
For example, your reactions when you went to the grocery store and everyone had a mask on, when restaurants started shutting down. Yet, now we’re expected to go out and do what we used to do, with little or no restriction. Are you feeling safe? Comfortable? At ease? If not, what comes up for you? That’s where you can begin…
 
B) Post the feelings, thoughts, emotions you felt about each event as well. (Did you feel happy, sad, anxious or excited? Dig a little deeper… 

C) We'll be having a Zoom call on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.  I'll be sending the link out through Facebook as well. Bring your burning questions and I will answer them live.

Question of the Day: 

What was it about the past year and its resulting memories that has impacted you the most? 

Today’s Exercise:
Write a brief synopsis of when the pandemic became real to you. How did you feel once you realized things weren’t ever going to be the same again? Most importantly, what inner strengths came to the surface that gave you a sense of continuity and freedom?

Remember,with a little digging you can build a short memoir piece.

And….be sure to post your answers in the Day 2 thread. (It’s pinned to the top of the page.)
