Day 4 - Unlock the Power of Your Story, 2021

Here we go! It’s Day 4 of your “Unlock the Power of Your Story, 2021” Challenge, and I’m more than ready for more. I hope you are too!

By now, you have a well thought out story to write. You’ve outlined it, segmented points you feel are necessary (inner growth items perhaps), and you’ve included others in your story as well. Now it’s time to write it out.

Remember, it’s still a draft, so just write. Don’t worry about how it looks. Firstly, it needs to be on paper, and then you can re-write and edit after that. As you go along though, think about the story as an entire ‘thing’ on it own merit.

Post your answer to the following prompts in the Day 4 thread. 
(you can also find it under UNITS or ANNOUNCEMENTS tab)

Question of the Day: What is the biggest benefit / result you want to share with others in terms of experience, feelings, thoughts, growth, sadness, joy, understanding?

How can the events of the past year help you - as you move into the next phase of life after Covid - as you realize events don't always have to be the ultimate answer and can simply be a stepping stone to a larger future, one that you choose.

If it's an enjoyable memory, what caused the joy within the experience? Be specific. Over the next few days, you'll be tightening up your storylines and either adding other characters or going deeper into their actions as they affected you.

Perhaps there are other important characters in your story with you who have also gained something. Maybe a new friendship came about or a family argument many years ago was resolved. You can't change an event as it happened, but you can let go of residual feelings. By doing that, you come to a deeper sense of who you are and/or the part you played. You can gain an inner depth - understanding and empathy, toward yourself and others.

Exercise:

If you choose to do this, add one or two other characters and how they either relate to you or affect you within the context of this story. Think contrast! This can be an internal thought as well. Perhaps someone made comments that were contrary to your beliefs…what were your reactions and resolution, if any?
